AAU Students Take Part in Fun Run
On October, 28, 2011, Al Ain University of Science and Technology students participated in the annual Fun Run which begun at Bawadi Mall. The run, organized by Tawam Hospital, comes as part of its Breast Cancer awareness campaign. The participant students expressed their excitement at being part of this event which underlines interaction between AAU and the local community.
Further, Dr. Ibtehal Abu Rezq, the Dean of Student Affairs, highlighted the importance of continuous communication with the local community as it fosters cooperation and the spirit of social interaction. She added that AAU takes its social responsibility seriously and takes advantage of every possible opportunity for strengthening ties with the community and enhancing solidarity among all levels of society and in all walks of life. -
“My Distinction: The Secret to My Success”; Lecture at Al Ain University
Al Ain, UAE, Oct. 31, 2011 – The Deanship of Student Affairs at Al Ain University of Science and Technology, in cooperation with the General Directorate for Policing Operations (Social Support Centers Department) at the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters, organized a lecture entitled “ My Distinction: The Secret to My Success” at AAU Women’s Campus in Al Ain.
Ms. Hind Al Badwawi, family counselor and self-development international trainer at the Ministry of Social Affairs, delivered the lecture which focused mainly on self-esteem and pre-planning for goals.
The lecturer presented useful awareness tips in addition to motivating questions. Ms. Al Badwawi also addressed the students’ queries and requests providing the support the female students need.
Ms. Al Badwawi expressed her pleasure to be at Al Ain University to give the lecture and commended the efforts of the Deanship of Student Affairs.
Further, Dr. Ibtehal Abu Rezq, the Dean of Student Affairs at AAU, thanked Ms. Al Badwawi for the valuable information asserting that the University is keen on staying in direct communication with the relevant bodies to cater for the needs and interests of the youth. -
AAU, Al Ain Campus, Organizes International Day
Under the patronage of the AAU president and the Director of Student Affairs, AAU organized the International Day on Thursday, May 5, 2011.A number of faculty members and administrative staff attended as well as a large gathering of students and their families. The event included cultural and folkloric exhibits in addition to a variety of traditional food. The International Day has highlighted the cultural diversity within AAU. Moreover, the harmonious relationship that bonds students was evident through their cooperation that led to the success of the event which lasted for well over three hours. It is noteworthy that this event is the fruit of the students’ effort supported by the AAU administration.
