The workshop, led by pharmacy educators, Dr. Fadi Alkhateeb (USA) and Dr. Linda S. Garavalia (USA), will be held on Al Ain University – Abu Dhabi Campus, United Arab Emirates, on Sunday, March 5 and Monday, March 6, 2017.

This program is designed to help teams of 3 to 5 pharmacy faculty members and administrators from a university work together to evaluate their assessment practices. Expert faculty will lead participants through curricular assessment, deciding upon the assessments methods right for your institution and how to collect and effectively use assessment data to improve your educational programs. Attendees will be provided the opportunity to create curriculum maps and learn how curriculum mapping supports assessment.

OBJECTIVES OF THE WORKSHOP

At the conclusion of the workshop, participants (teams/individuals) shall be able to:
  • Realize the significance of assessment to the curriculum and student outcomes
  • Identify the type of assessments most suited to your institution
  • Create effective assessments
  • Understand the importance of curriculum mapping
