Calculus Competition for Engineering students at AAU

In order to provide a great incentive to appeal to students’ minds into understanding calculus, the College of Engineering at Al Ain University -Abu Dhabi Campus- organized the “Calculus Competition” conducted by Dr. Nuha Hamada. The competition was attended by Calculus 1 & 2 students.
The competition arrangement is to create teams (each team of 3-4 students) and they have to compete against each other to solve problems as quickly as possible. One problem is given at a time, and the points and time available vary from problem to problem. Each team that has the correct answer within the time limit receives points for that problem.
The competition motivated the students to work in teams and utilize their time optimally to collect more points, and to have the ability to manage their time while solving problems. The competition concluded with honoring the winning team as determined by the highest score.
