A Scientific Visit to the National Archives and National Library in Abu Dhabi

The Scientific Research Club at the Deanship of Student Affairs at Al Ain University organized a scientific visit to the National Archives and National Library in Abu Dhabi, under the supervision of Dr. Riham Maqtesh. The visit began with a documentary presentation in the Archives Theatre, showcasing the history of the UAE through the ages. Mrs. Hind Al-Zaabi gave a detailed explanation about the importance of the National Archives and National Library in collecting and preserving Emirati intellectual production, along with an overview of the archives’ role and services. The visit included a tour of the Zayed Hall, which serves as a museum displaying a wide range of informational materials, from artifacts to preserved documents, as well as artificial intelligence technologies that illustrate the UAE’s future vision. The tour was led by Mr. Hamoud Al-Kaabi, who explained to the students how the archives contribute to preserving the nation’s history for future generations. Additionally, the visit featured a tour of the National Library, which houses various materials for researchers, including statistical archives and informational books. This visit enhanced students’ awareness of the national and societal contributions of the National Archives and National Library, while strengthening their national identity.
