In collaboration with the Security Training Center, the Student Affairs Deanship at the Abu Dhabi campus organized a training workshop titled “The Art of Public Speaking and Addressing an Audience”. The workshop was led by retired Brigadier and training consultant Saif Al Mazrouei, who brings extensive experience in training and leadership development. The workshop aimed to enhance students’ ability to speak clearly and confidently in front of an audience, equipping them with practical tools to influence and persuade, contributing to personal growth and leadership skill refinement. The session covered several key topics, beginning with an introduction to the art of public speaking and the importance of this skill in academic and professional fields. Al Mazrouei discussed the secrets of influencing an audience through impactful techniques that enhance the speaker’s charisma and ability to capture attention. The workshop also emphasized non-verbal communication techniques, such as body language, facial expressions, and tone of voice, as essential elements for conveying messages effectively.
Additionally, Al Mazrouei highlighted the importance of building credibility as a fundamental aspect of communication, explaining how a speaker can strengthen audience trust through honesty, rapport, and self-confidence. He provided practical advice on overcoming nervousness and anxiety associated with public speaking, such as deep breathing techniques and consistent practice. The workshop concluded with solid student engagement, with participants expressing their appreciation for the material presented and their interest in joining more sessions to develop their personal and professional skills further.
