“Russia in the Heart of Al Ain University” — A Celebration of Cultural Diversity

Under the supervision of the Deanship of Student Affairs, Al Ain University organized the “Russian Cultural Week” at its Al Ain and Abu Dhabi campuses, with the participation of a visiting Russian delegation representing several universities from the Russian Federation. The event aimed to enhance academic cooperation and cultural exchange between the two sides.
The week’s activities included a variety of cultural, artistic, and educational events such as an art exhibition showcasing Russian culture, musical and folk dance performances, and interactive workshops introducing the Russian language, customs, and traditions. In addition, documentary film screenings highlighted the richness of Russian culture and its contributions to the fields of art, science, and literature.
The events were attended by Prof. Ghaleb El Refae, President of Al Ain University; Prof. Amer Qasem, Vice President (Abu Dhabi Campus); and Prof. Ibtehal Abu Rezeq, Vice President for Development and Follow-Up and Dean of Student Affairs, along with several faculty and staff members and a large number of students.
Prof. El Refae emphasized that organizing the Russian Cultural Week reflects the university’s commitment to building bridges of cultural and academic communication with higher education institutions around the world, noting that such initiatives help broaden students’ horizons and promote the values of tolerance, understanding, and coexistence among nations.
For their part, members of the Russian delegation expressed their appreciation for the warm hospitality and excellent organization, affirming their eagerness to strengthen academic cooperation with Al Ain University and exchange expertise in education and research.
The event concluded with the honoring of the Russian delegation and the exchange of commemorative gifts, in a festive atmosphere that embodied the spirit of cultural interaction and friendship between the Emirati and Russian cultures at Al Ain University.
