Awareness Lecture on Autism to Enhance Community Awareness

The Deanship of Student Affairs at the Abu Dhabi campus organized an awareness lecture aimed at enhancing community awareness about "Autism" and better understanding this disorder. The lecture was presented by Mr. Amin Al Attas, a member of the advisory council of the Deanship of Student Affairs, who covered several key aspects of Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Mr. Al Attas began by defining Autism Spectrum Disorder and explained the possible causes of the condition, including genetic and environmental factors. He also highlighted the distinctive characteristics of the disorder, such as difficulties in social communication and repetitive behaviours that may appear in those affected.
In another part of the lecture, the challenges faced by families of children with autism were discussed, along with the psychological and emotional concerns that accompany them. At the conclusion of the lecture, Mr. Al Attas emphasized the importance of community awareness and social support in dealing with this condition, stressing the need to provide a suitable environment that can improve the lives of individuals with autism and their families.
