Creative Digital Games Inspired by Emirati Culture at GameShift

A group of students from the Software Engineering and Computer Science majors participated in the GameShift Game Development Competition under the supervision of Kenan Hassan, gaining valuable hands-on experience in game design and development.
GameShift is an intensive three-day challenge that requires participants to design and develop a complete video game from scratch, inspired by themes reflecting the UAE’s national identity and Emirati culture, while integrating both technical and creative elements.
The participating students demonstrated strong teamwork, creative thinking, and effective use of programming and design skills, producing innovative games that showcased their understanding of game development fundamentals.
This participation reflects the university’s commitment to experiential learning and bridging academic knowledge with practical application, contributing to the preparation of graduates equipped with competitive skills aligned with the growing digital game development industry.
