Students Develop Smart Solution at the Nestlé AI Hackathon

Software Engineering and Computer Science students participated in the Nestlé AI Hackathon, organized by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, in a three-day event. The hackathon aimed to use real-world datasets to develop AI models capable of solving practical problems and providing actionable business insights.
The student team, consisting of Khalil Sarieddine, Mohammad Naser, Miriam George, Leen Alaa, and Omar Elshanawany, under the supervision of Eng. Kenan Hassan, successfully built a fully integrated AI-powered solution. This solution allowed training and using a complex model through a user-friendly web interface, capable of forecasting business and financial needs for various consumable products sold by Nestlé across UAE markets.
The college emphasized that students’ participation in this event reflects its commitment to providing hands-on learning experiences, keeping students aligned with the latest advancements in artificial intelligence and emerging industry demands. This initiative also contributes to preparing graduates with the skills and expertise needed to excel in this rapidly evolving field.
