From Idea to Impact Unlocking: Innovation with Intellectual Property

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center at Al Ain University – Abu Dhabi Campus organized a workshop titled “From Idea to Impact: Unlocking Innovation Through Intellectual Property”, aiming to enhance awareness among students and academic and administrative staff about the importance of intellectual property and its role in protecting creative ideas and transforming them into impactful initiatives and projects.
The workshop was delivered by Eng. Ahmad Al Khattab, Senior Intellectual Property Expert at Dennemeyer & Associates S.A. (AE). During the session, he addressed several key topics, including the concepts of innovation and invention, the power of ideas, the fundamentals of intellectual property, various types of intellectual property rights, the importance of protecting innovations, and the role of intellectual property in research and development. He also explored the growing relationship between artificial intelligence and intellectual property, highlighting emerging opportunities and challenges in this evolving field.
The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center emphasized that organizing this workshop aligns with Al Ain University’s ongoing efforts to foster a culture of innovation across the university and support students in developing their ideas into practical and applicable solutions and projects. The workshop also sought to enhance participants’ understanding of the legal and regulatory aspects related to innovation protection and intellectual property rights.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the Center expressed its appreciation to Eng. Ahmad Al Khattab for sharing his valuable expertise and insights, and thanked all attendees for their active participation. The Center reaffirmed its commitment to organizing impactful programs and events that contribute to building a university environment that encourages creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
