AAU Al Ain to New Campus

AAU Al Ain to New CampusAl Ain University has completed the move from its campus in Al Towayya to the new campus in Al Jimi, Al Ain.

The move coincides with the beginning of the academic year 2012/2013 and is part of the AAU plan for expansion and for having all colleges under one roof.

In this regard, Dr. Noor Aldeen Atatreh, AAU Chancellor, pointed out that the move comes in translation of the directions of the UAE leadership with regard to providing the best support possible for educational institutions in the country on all levels. It is also the result of the intensive follow up by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, namely Shekih Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, to provide the necessary support for the students and augment the educational process.

The new campus has an administration building, five colleges, the deanship of Student Affairs, four centers: the English Language Center, the Information Technology Center, the Practical Training Center, and the Quality Assurance and Institutional Research Center in addition to highly equipped sports hall and gym as well as various service buildings to cater for the needs of the students, Atatreh added.

Moreover, Atatreh detailed that the new campus also offers scientific labs fitted with the latest equipment as well as computer labs that serve to support the learning process. For extracurricular activities, the new campus holds facilities and auditoriums to provide space for the students to carry out their activities. Further, a 700 sq/m multipurpose sports hall has been equipped with gym facilities and prepared for indoor activities.  Mosques and cafeterias for male and female students have also been constructed. Finally, the campus provides a parking lot for up to 1000 cars as well as various green spaces.

Atatreh reiterated that moving to the new campus is merely the first step in the ongoing plan to enhance the infrastructure and developing AAU to keep up with the latest advancements in education and to support the appointment of qualified faculty who will be able to take part in the future development of programs offered by the University to further meet the requirements of the job market to better serve the UAE community.

It is noteworthy that AAU offers fifteen undergraduate programs through its five colleges: the College of Engineering and Information Technology, the College of Pharmacy, the College of Law, the College of Education, and the College of Business Administration. In addition to that, the University offers an MBA, two Master in Law programs (Private and Public), an MA in TESOL, as well as a Professional Diploma in Teaching program. All undergraduate and graduate programs are accredited by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
