Injaz Portfolio Event at AAU

The College of Education at Al Ain University organized the “Injaz” Portfolio event. Dr. Abdelhafid Belarbi, AAU Vice President, attended the event as well as the Dean of the College of Education, AAU deans, and faculty members.
Dr. Abdelhafid Belarbi, AAU Vice President, expressed his delight at the educational programs which reflect the students’ effort and convey creative ideas enriching academic achievement and learning outcomes.
The ‘Injaz’ Project has provided students with the opportunity to exert all effort for research and follow up in preparing these portfolios in accordance with the academic preparation requirements. It has also helped them in preparing course plans and handling educational program responsibilities after graduation.
Belarbi reiterated that the Practicum is a key component of teacher education. It comes towards the end of the program whereby students teach actual classes at public and private schools. Throughout the Practicum period, students implement methods and theories while being monitored closely by qualified supervisors from the College of Education with help from cooperative teachers at the designated schools.
Belarbi added that the particulars of the field training are documented in the “Injaz” Portfolio (Injaz is the Arabic word for achievement). This portfolio is a collection of the activities, worksheets, and practices carried out by the student-teacher. It reflects the skills and experience the students have acquired throughout the Practicum period and their ability to creatively personalize the knowledge they have acquired and put it to practice.
At the end of the ceremony, Dr. Belarbi gave out certificates of appreciation for the distinguished students.
He also viewed the portfolios which showed a lot of hard work on the students’ part.
