Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Visits AAU Pavilion at DUPHAT

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance, and President of Dubai Health Authority visited Al Ain University’s pavilion in Dubai International Pharmaceuticals and Technologies Conference and Exhibition (DUPHAT), 2012. Dr. Noor Aldeen Atatreh, AAU Chancellor, gave H.H. Sheikh Hamdan a detailed explanation on AAU, particularly the College of Pharmacy. Dr. Atatreh pointed out the Pharmacy program’s approach in combining theory and practice by allowing students the opportunity to train in pharmaceutical plants, pharmacies, and hospitals.
This is AAU’s third consecutive participation in DUPHAT, which has become one of the most important exhibitions in the field bringing together pharmaceutical companies as well as colleges of pharmacy from different universities. AAU’s participation, which was well received by the exhibition goers, took the form of medical research, posters, and illustrations.
AAU Chancellor, Dr. Atatreh, believed that “the visit by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance, and President of Dubai Health Authority to AAU’s pavilion shows the attention His Highness gives to scientific advances and higher education development. H.H. Sheikh Hamdan lauded the effort in order to enhance the students’ academic level. His Highness also highlighted their participation in conferences and exhibitions that shed light on the most recent developments and research. AAU is always keen on participating in DUPHAT in order for students to connect with medical and pharmaceutical organizations and to familiarize them with the current pharmaceutical environment and scientific progress.”
Dr. Khairi Mustafa, AAU Dean of the College of Pharmacy, added: “AAU is taking major steps towards remaining up to date with the emerging advances in science. AAU’s pavilion at DUPHAT is a reflection of the AAU’s keenness on engaging students in specialized conferences and allowing them to meet their potential job market in addition to the various colleges of pharmacy from the UAE and other countries.”
