AAU faculty member, Dr. Eyad Abdul Majid Abdullah presented a paper entitled “Disability in Arabic Literature” at the Third Scientific Forum for the Persons’ with Disabilities Sports held under the title “Together for Better Care and Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities” which takes place every year in Dibba Al Hisn.
The paper presented by Dr. Eyad probed classical and modern Arabic resources for references on how persons with special needs were presented in literature. The paper also highlighted that through literature persons with disabilities can get more involved and integrated in their communities. Writing about disabilities and literary anecdotes were also points that the paper tackled in reference to overcoming obstacles and dealing with challenges.
