A delegation from the AAU Deanship of Student Affairs and a number of students attended the symposium held under the slogan "Costs of Marriage between Reality and the Future" and organized by the Marriage Fund in cooperation with the Women's Union in Abu Dhabi as part of the media and health campaigns and family issues awareness activities. Dr. Mohammed Yusuf Hassan, member of the Board of Directors of the Marriage Fund, and H.E. Habiba Al Hosni, Deputy Director General of the Marriage Fund, participated in the symposium.
The symposium included a short play entitled “The Last Decision” promoting the slogans of “Medical examination is a must and a law” and “Prosperity Lies in the Little” by the Marriage Fund in order to raise social awareness among youth who are about to get married and start families.
Dr. Zuhrieh Zoe Shanaa, Deputy Dean of Student Affairs, mentioned that the purpose of the participation in the symposium is to introduce students to the awareness role the Marriage Fund plays in building a culturally and socially aware community who plays an active role in reducing marriage costs and raising a disease-free generation. This comes in realization of the Marriage Fund’s vision of building and maintaining a stable and consolidated Emirati family in addition to spreading awareness among the target group with regard to the seriousness of extravagance and exaggerated cost of marriage and their negative impact on family life.
