The Community Engagement Committee, in collaboration with the Deanship of Student Affairs, organized a religious seminar entitled “The Prophet’s Hijra: Lessons Learnt” presented by Dr. Maher Haswa, faculty member at the College of Law, in the attendance of faculty, staff, and students.
Dr. Maher narrated the story of the Prophet’s (PBUH) ‘hijrah’ (migration) from Makkah to Al Madinah and the lessons learnt. He also highlighted the significance of trusting in Allah and planning in order to attain success and overcome obstacles. He added that “with the Prophet’s ‘hijrah’ the virtues and blessings of Islam, focusing on human dignity, reached more and more people. As soon as he arrived at Al Madinah, the Prophet (PBUH) laid the foundations of Islam and explained its teachings; he showed people that Islam carried the message of peace, giving, prosperity, fraternity, compassion, prayer, and worship.”
