As part of the community engagement initiatives, a delegation of AAU students, supervised by the Deanship of Student Affairs, attended the ‘ABILITIESme’ exhibition and conference for persons with disabilities organized under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al-Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, Honorary President of Future Centre for Special Needs, and the attendance of His Excellency Dr. Mugheer Al Khaili, ADEC’s Director General, member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.
The students explored the exhibitions pavilions which included a showcase of a series of medical assistive technologies, healthcare innovations, advanced sports infrastructures and all recent scientific findings focused on improving the quality of life of people with disabilities to enable them to become effective and productive members of the community.
The congress embodies the degree to which the UAE government gives people with disabilities attention, safeguards their rights, and provides them with opportunities to help develop their abilities and assist in enhancing inclusiveness in order to fully utilize their potentials, possibilities and prospects.
