As part of the attention, Al Ain University gives to community engagement, the AAU College of Education, in cooperation with Palestine Private Academy, organized a series of educational workshops for teachers and administrative staff of the school.

Dr. Nadeem Ashuraey, Associate Professor at the College of Education, commenced the series of workshops with an interactive workshop about the common mistakes in students’ assessment. Through the workshop, he highlighted the recent trends in assessment which are in line with the ADEC standards and are in tandem with international standards as well.

On her part, Dr. Enas Abu Libdeh, Assistant Professor at the College of Education, delivered a couple of workshops on integrating technology in curricula. Abu Libdeh underlined technology’s role in enhancing learning in various subjects. She demonstrated for the Math, Science, and Arabic Language applications as well as presented uses of educational videos inside and outside the classroom.

Also, Dr. Yasser Ali, Assistant Professor at the College of Education, presented a workshop on leadership. He explained the difference between a manager and a leader as well as the characteristics of a creative leader. He allowed attendees a chance to try out a personality analysis to determine the personality of each teacher and discussed how the results may be utilized to carry out administrative tasks at schools with special focus on the preparation of students as future leaders.

Further, Dr. Haytham Bani Issa, Assistant Professor at the College of Education, trained teachers and administrative staff on how to draft a mission and vision drawing on examples from ADEC and various educational institutions.

Dr. Mohammad Bassam Mustafa, Assistant Professor at the College of Education, concluded the workshop series. He delivered a workshop on Edmodo, an educational social networking site that combines Facebook and Blackboard. Teachers may connect with students through posting assignments, uploading video messages, discussing students’ performance, assignments and so much more.
