AAU celebrates obtaining the International Accreditation for the College of Engineering and Information Technology

 

A Friendly meeting gathered the family of Al Ain University of Science and Technology to celebrate in obtaining the International Accreditation (ABET) from the United States for the College of Engineering and Information Technology of the university, in the presence of Dr. Noor El Deen Atatreh –AAU Chancellor, Prof. Ghaleb El Refae –AAU President, Prof. Abdulhafeed Belarabi –AAU Vice President, Dr. Nazih Khaddaj Mallat, Dean of the College of Engineering and Information Technology, College’s Deans, Heads of Administrative Departments, number of students of the college,  Representatives from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) – UAE Branch and guests from different governmental and private institutions.

The celebrations started with the National Anthem, then the AAU Chancellor congratulated the Deanship of the College of Engineering and Information Technology, the students and all the attendees on the occasion of obtaining this accreditation, which has a significant importance for the College to achieve the international accreditation standards which focus on the output quality of the programs in the College of Engineering and information Technology offered by the University, in addition to obtain the International Certification from the (ACPE) in the United States for the College of Pharmacy and obtaining the College of Law the International Accreditation from the (HCERES) in France, Which would enhance the position of Al Ain University of Science and Technology, he added: “This provision is the culmination of efforts and hard work at the college and university levels, which represented a significant achievement and is calculated for all categories: the University Board of Trustees, Council of Deans, University Administration, teaching bodies and administrative members and students to  represent an important and unique achievement in order to improve the academic programs and the education quality which is correspondence with the vision of the Ministry of Education – Higher Education Affairs in United Arab Emirates.

At the End of the speech, Dr. Atatreh thanked all the strategic partners from Ministry of education, Abu Dhabi education council, and IEEE members for their valuable efforts and support.

For his part, the AAU President stressed on the keenness of Al Ain University of Science and Technology to develop the College of Engineering and Information Technology by attracting a highly efficient academic members, in addition by providing all support which would raise the college and the university. He emphasized on the University's foundations that are compatible with the CAA standards in the Ministry of Education – Higher Education Affairs, adding that the University relies on upgrading several important axes, which are the academic and administrative bodies, students, learning, research and scientific activities and interaction with the community. He too emphasized the importance of scientific research to satisfy the demands of society, the State, economic reality and UAE education.

On the other hand, the Dean of the College of Engineering and Information Technology- thanked the University Board of Trustees, Council of Deans, University Administration, teaching bodies and administrative members and students who have contributed to achieve this accreditation, expressing his pride and his delight of obtaining the international accreditation (ABET) for the College, He considered it the most important achievements of the college for the year 2015-2016, which puts the college in a high rank among the other colleges which offers the same specifications and global quality which is matching with the world standards, And congratulated everyone on this achievement and wished further progress and development for the College of Engineering and Information Technology and for Al Ain University of Science and Technology.
