IEEE honored Al Ain University in recognition of its effective efforts to the institution

Al Ain University (AAU) participated in the annual general meeting of the IEEE UAE Section, held at “Le Meridien Dubai Hotel & Conference Centre” – Dubai, in the presence of various local universities and societies. This annual meeting was attended by the IEEE UAE members, Chapter chairs, Women In Engineering and Young Professionals affinity groups, and the members of the Executive Committee (ExCom) of the section. Dr. Nazih Khaddaj Mallat (Dean, College of Engineering), was among the participating delegates, as well as faculty members and students from the College of Engineering.
The honorary section chair, Dr. Eesa Bastaki, and the current section chair, Dr. Essa Basaeed, presented a plaque of appreciation to Dr. Khaddaj Mallat in recognition with AAU as a Strategic Partner to the IEEE UAE Section in 2016, its efforts in hosting the 11th IEEE UAE Student Day and the 16th Mediterranean Microwave Symposium, and its effective contribution in organizing and hosting activities of IEEE in UAE, confirming its role in serving and communicating with the community. Dr. Khaddaj Mallat expressed his thanks to the section officers and all participants, stressing on that AAU is always ready to embrace and support the IEEE UAE Section scientific and social activities considering as an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences and discuss ideas with the others.
At the end, the speakers at the meeting demonstrated the accomplishments of the section from its foundation and the challenges it has faced.
