AAU attended a workshop about Program Assessment

Al Ain University (AAU), represented by Dr. Nazih Khaddaj Mallat (Director, Quality Assurance and Institutional Research Center), attended 3-days workshop entitled “Program Assessment in Higher Education”, organized by CLICKS (Center for Learning Innovations & Customized Knowledge Solutions) in Dubai. The workshop, presented by Prof. Martin Henson (Emeritus Professor of Computer Science - University of Essex and Managing Director - Khozama Academic Consulting), was attended by several participants from different universities in the UAE and outside the UAE.

The workshop started with an introduction about Program Assessment and its fundamentals, followed by exploring the steps on how to produce an effective design in Program Assessment, analyze correctly the data for Program Effectiveness, and assure the continuous improvement. The three days’ workshop ended by an evaluation of the workshop and the distribution of the certificates to all participants.

Dr. Nazih Khaddaj Mallat expressed his great satisfaction to attend this 3-days workshop. He stated that this workshop helped the participants to understand the assessment process, design and conduct effective assessment plans and identify strategies and methods to collect assessment data, and develop skills to use relevant analyzed data for program revisions and continuous improvements.
