AAU Honors Faculty Member and Student Recognized by UAE President

Prof. Ghaleb El Refae, President of Al Ain University, honored Dr. Enas Abu Labda, Associate Professor at the College of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences, along with student Laila Al Kaabi from the Master of Arts in Applied Sociology program, in recognition of their special honor within the Frontline Heroes initiative, held under the support of the UAE’s wise leadership and on behalf of the Frontline Heroes Office.

Dr. Abu Labda and student Laila were awarded a gold medal and received a special message from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, in appreciation of their national contributions and sincere humanitarian efforts, in a gesture reflecting the UAE’s recognition of distinguished individuals and their impactful community and humanitarian contributions.

The honoring ceremony was attended by Mohammed Khamis Al Kaabi, Director of the Red Crescent, Saleh Khater, Dean of Volunteers in Al Ain, and Dr. Khawla Al Takhayneh, Director of the Applied Sociology Program at Al Ain University, in an atmosphere that reflected the values of appreciation and gratitude toward humanitarian and volunteer efforts.

Prof. El Refae emphasized that this recognition reflects the esteemed position granted to humanitarian and national competencies in the UAE, praising the honorees’ efforts, which embody the spirit of social responsibility and the values of giving that the university strives to instill among its students and community.

This recognition is part of Al Ain University’s commitment to supporting national initiatives and promoting volunteerism and humanitarian work, in line with the UAE’s vision to strengthen social solidarity and humanitarian values.
