Under the patronage of H.E. Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Al Ain University organizes Cybersecurity Day

Under the patronage and in the presence of H.E. Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Chairman of the UAE Cybersecurity Council, Al Ain University organized AAU CyberX Day, a flagship cybersecurity event aimed at enhancing digital security awareness and strengthening collaboration between academia, government entities, and industry partners.
The event served as an interactive platform that brought together leading cybersecurity experts, government representatives, industry leaders, academic and administrative staff, as well as university students, fostering knowledge exchange and discussions on the latest digital challenges and cyber threats.
In his keynote address, H.E. Dr. Al Kuwaiti emphasized that cybersecurity is a fundamental pillar of national security. He noted that the United Arab Emirates ranks among the world’s most advanced countries in this field, thanks to its proactive vision, strong digital infrastructure, and continuous investment in developing national talent. He further highlighted that empowering youth with specialized skills is essential to ensuring the sustainability of the digital ecosystem and strengthening the nation’s preparedness for future threats.
The organization of AAU CyberX Day reflects Al Ain University’s commitment to supporting national cybersecurity initiatives and preparing qualified national cadres capable of addressing rapidly evolving digital threats by equipping students with practical knowledge and market-relevant skills.
The event featured a series of specialized sessions and technical lectures delivered by experts in cyber defense, digital forensics, threat intelligence, cloud security, artificial intelligence in cybersecurity, and emerging cyber risks.
The event also included a Capture The Flag (CTF) competition, a hands-on cybersecurity challenge that enabled students to test their skills in penetration testing, cryptography, reverse engineering, and incident response within realistic attack scenarios. The competition fostered innovation, competitiveness, and application-based learning.
Additionally, a cybersecurity exhibition showcased live demonstrations of projects, tools, and solutions presented by students, faculty members, and industry partners. Interactive networking opportunities allowed students to connect with experts and explore internships, professional certifications, and career pathways in the cybersecurity field.
Al Ain University affirmed that hosting AAU CyberX Day aligns with its vision of promoting cybersecurity culture within the academic community and enhancing students’ readiness to navigate digital transformation, in line with the UAE’s vision of building a secure and resilient digital ecosystem.
The event represents a strategic step toward preparing a new generation of specialists capable of protecting digital infrastructure and confidently supporting the nation’s digital transformation journey.
