A delegation from Al Ain University (AAU) attended the induction day organized by the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) in the presence of H.E. Dr. Mugheer Al Khaili, ADEC’s Director General, and a number of faculty members from the AAU College of Education.
The purpose of the meeting is to familiarize higher education institutes with ADEC’s educational practices, curricula, and teacher preparation programs so as to ensure that teacher preparation programs in the institutions are in tandem with reality as well as with the educational development plan of ADEC.
ADEC reiterated that the New School Model (NSM) encourages child-centered learning, focuses on enhancing the students’ skills, and deviates from the conventional methods of teaching which rely on memorizing and spoon-feeding. The NSM requires students to take advantage of information technology and encourages them to look for information on their own and keep up with the latest technological developments.
