AAU and the Emirates Heritage Club Organize an Exhibition of Heritage Books

AAU and the Emirates Heritage Club Organize an Exhibition of Heritage BooksUnder the patronage of HH Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President Representative Chairman of the Emirates Heritage Club, the Deanship of Students Affairs at AAU, based in Abu Dhabi, organized an exhibition of heritage records  in cooperation with the management activities of the Emirates Heritage Club. Dr. AbdelHafid Belarbi, AAU Vice President, Professor Iyad Abdul Majeed Abdullah, Assistant Dean of Students Affairs, and Professor Ahmed Al-Hosni, Head of Youth Activities in the Emirates Heritage Club along with an elite group of university professors and senior student audience attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

The exhibition included more than 130 titles of the books’ versions from the club such as collections of the local Nabati poets, books about the history and heritage of the UAE and the region and books dedicated to the study of the march and journey of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al-Nahyan "God rest his soul." It also includes a variety of titles about the books and studies in Andalusi Literature, Islamic Civilization and the literary and cultural books and encyclopedias on CD-ROM about sports of falconry, camel racing and equestrian. Also, a collection of an atlas about the Abu Dhabi environment, heritage and identity. In addition to showing different numbers of journals published by the Zayed Centre for studies and research of the Emirates Heritage Club and House of Poetry, as well as, displaying a large collection of photos, posters and leaflets on environmental awareness, reflecting the club’s projects and activities for the youth sector.

Professor AbdelHafid Belarbi stressed that this exposition is one of the most important cultural events for the university this year because of the many benefits reflected in the students’ initiative valuing the club, which ended gifting all exhibits to the university library.

The Vice President thanked and showed appreciation to HH Sheikh Sultan bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his directives to organize such a cultural event to raise awareness of heritage among university students as the contents of the exhibition will serve students in terms of completing research heritage with the idea of promoting the fundamentals of national identity, noting that the university has courses on the history of Abu Dhabi, praising the level of versions for their importance in people's memory.

For his part, Professor Ahmed Al-Hosni stressed the importance of the exhibition and cooperation with the university to consider over the hopeful image and a new book about the inheritance and set it in front of the university students to be a fertile material for them in the field of writing and research studies. He also indicated that this exhibition would attract a heavy number of university students to benefit from its activities and the formation of groups of traditions from investing their energies in raising the value of the book and the means of scientific research.
