AAU Professors and Students’ Participations in Community Events

AAU Professors and Students’ Participations in Community EventsThe  Deanship of Students Affairs and a group of university students in Al Ain participated in the training session organized by the ‘Hur’ group and  Al Ain Centre for Care and Rehabilitation for people with special needs, where the aim of the workshop is to define people with special needs as well as defining the center, its departments and the services it provides.

A number of students registered as volunteers to assist teachers during the classes and also to train people with special needs on various handicrafts.

The Deanship of Students Affairs invited the children of the center and its staff to visit the university and to get acquainted with the university’s divisions as well as organizing a sports day to entertain them.

On the other hand, a group of AAU faculty members from Al Ain campus were involved in the effectiveness of "Have Mercy on Your People" which was organized by the Department of Community Services at the Downtown Theater Sector, Al Ain Municipality. The purpose was to offer an awareness lecture on the phenomenon of trafficking in human beings, how to combat human trafficking and the risks that accrue to society and the economy due to the malpractices and lack of awareness of the importance of compassion and good manners in dealing with others.  Finally at the close of the event, there was an open dialogue to answer the audience’s queries.
