Lecture Entitled "Arrest and Investigations” in Al Ain University

A lecture entitled “Arrest and Investigations” was organized by the Deanship of Students Affairs, in cooperation with the Faculty of Law at the Al Ain University, based in Al Ain. It was attended by the faculty’s students and staff members. The advocate Amneh Sayyed Ali and Dr. Ibrahim Qatawneh, a member of the teaching staff at the College of Law, participated in the event. They explained that about a number of legal and regulatory procedures in the arrest and investigations, and how to follow the controls applicable in crimes that require capture and inspection. It  has been indicated that the exact powers are so wide as long as there is sufficient evidence indicating the presence of the accused.

The advocate confirmed the importance of the subject of arrests and investigations in association with individual freedom and private property since the UAE Constitution guarantees the freedom of people and saves their rights in line with worldwide best practices.

Dr. Ibrahim Qatawneh explained through the lecture the situations that are legally captured by an inspecting officer without the permission of the public prosecutor. He pointed out that an officer’s abilities are full enough as long as they receive sufficient evidence against the accused, in particular, criminal incidents, which are followed by arrests and investigations. The doctor also explained that the UAE Constitution guarantees the freedom of others and emphasized the matter of arrest and investigations for the attack on an individual’s autonomy and individual belongings.
