AAU organizes an Introductory Campaign on the occasion of “World Stroke Day”

In collaboration with the College of Pharmacy, the Deanship of Student affairs at Al Ain University –Abu Dhabi Campus, organized an Introductory Campaign on the occasion of “World Stroke Day”,
Where AAU was chosen to be the academic representative of the United Arab Emirates in the site of this global campaign for this year, Which is oversees by the World stroke Organization, with a participation of 45 countries from around the world to define the risk of stroke and prevention methods.
One of the activities of the campaign was a lecture entitled “Stroke .. Spot It to Stop It”, presented by Dr. Munir Raqas -Lecturer at the College of Pharmacy and specialized in Neurology Research, he talked about the disease gravity, which occupies the second place among the disease leading to the death in the world, he also shared on the stroke types and the importance of discovering the disease and how to treat it. The lecture also included some previous researches about the stroke on animals.
During the day there were some brochures which contained explanations about the disease, in addition to the free medical examination for the attendees to evaluate the probability of exposure for stroke in the future.
It is worth to mention that, the event had a remarkable response from the audience.
