A lecture entitled the Stages of social change in the UAE before and after the Union

Al Ain University hosted Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Bin Msalam Bin Ham, Deputy General Secretary of the Amsam Organization of the United Nations, who presented a lecture entitled “The Stages of Social Change in the UAE before and after the Union”, organized by the Deanship of Students Affairs in collaboration with the College of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences.

At the beginning of the lecture, Dr. Ibtehal Aburezeq, Dean of Student Affairs, welcomed the guest and the attendees and pointed out that this lecture comes in conjunction with the celebrations of the UAE’s 46th National Day.

The lecture dealt with several aspects, most notably the UAE customs and traditions before the union, the changes in these customs and traditions, the role of expatriate workers in the population structure, and the change in age, gender, and vocational diversity and focusing on their positive role.

Sheikh Bin Ham expressed his happiness to present this lecture at Al Ain University, praised the warm welcome and wished the mutual cooperation between the two sides will continue.

For her part, Dr. Khawla Al Takayneh, a faculty member in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, stressed the importance of this lecture, which focuses on an important point in the UAE history before and after the Union.

This lecture comes within the framework of the course "Social Change", which deals with the transformation of social construction in the community.
