An academic from AAU won ADEK Award for Research Excellence

Al Ain University announced that Dr. Ismail Mabrook, Assistant Professor in the College of Engineering at AAU,has been granted ADEK Award for Research Excellence for the best proposal in Engineering field at the Abu Dhabi level.  The award aims to fund outstanding research proposals targeting the strategic priorities of Abu Dhabi.

The idea of the proposal is, to create a machine for early detection of a heart problem or cardiac arrest, so that the device issues alerts to the doctor, so that he will immediately intervene and solve the issue before it occurs.

The research project was evaluated by international evaluators from leading research institutions around the world based on a range of criteria, including the quality of research, relevance and impact, its association with the strategic sectors in Abu Dhabi and the contribution of the project in developing the human resources.

Dr. Mabrook said that the idea of the proposal was to avoid sudden heart attacks, especially after the increasing of heart problems and the high incidence of clinical death or sudden death. He added, that this project will be, able to, predict the possibility of stroke before it occurs, allowing doctors to take the necessary medical action and thus save a human life.

"I am proud to receive this award and I hope that this project will serve the largest group in society". Dr. Mabrook said.

Prof. Ghaleb El Refae, AAU President, said, Al Ain University is proud that one of its faculty members has received this award, and this award is considered a new academic achievement for the university which proves its interest in scientific research and its keenness to develop the skills and knowledge of its faculty members.
