A dialogue session on Cybercrime and Financial Fraud

The Deanship of Student Affairs at Al Ain University (Abu Dhabi Campus), in collaboration with the College of Law and with distinguished participation from the Ministry of Interior, organized a dialogue session titled "Cybercrime and Financial Fraud," moderated by Dr. Ahmed Fikry, Head of the General Department at the College of Law.

The session featured presentations by Colonel Dr. Engineer Ibrahim Hameed Al Muhairi, Director of the Digital Security Department at the Ministry of Interior, and a researcher specializing in the field of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence crimes, and digital transformation. Colonel Dr. Khaled Mohamed Al Hammadi, Professor of Criminal Law at the Police College, also participated in the session.

Colonel Dr. Al Hammadi explained the methods of electronic financial fraud operations, the efforts of the United Arab Emirates in preventing and combating cybercrimes in general, and financial fraud in particular. He discussed how the country is raising awareness among users of information technology to prevent them from falling victim to perpetrators of these cybercrimes.

Colonel Dr. Al Hammadi also spoke about the role of the UAE legislator and the laws related to this field, as well as the punitive policy adopted in this regard. He explained the legislative plan to address artificial intelligence crimes and metaverse technology.
