AAU is ranked 14th in the Arab world according to "Times Higher Education" 2023

The “2023, Times Higher Education (THE) Arab University Rankings” has ranked “Al Ain University (AAU)”, 14th in the Arab Region.

Dr. Noor El Deen Atatreh, (Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees), said, this achievement proves that AAU has a prestigious global reputation through its locally and internationally accredited programs, scientific research, future studies, and vital initiatives. He pointed out that, there is a lot more to achieve as every step is a learning process and AAU will continue giving its best in terms of quality along with the support of all AAU stakeholders. He also expressed his gratitude towards THE for the recognition.

Prof. Ghaleb El Refae (AAU President), expressed his appreciation for the remarkable reception of securing AAU’s place in the Arab region. He added, AAU will be working on this benchmarking analysis and would improve in the upcoming years.

Dr. Nazih Khaddaj Mallat (VP- Accreditation & QA) expressed his happiness about the distinguished position achieved by AAU in the “THE Arab Region Ranking”, especially from being ranked ‘27th in 2021’, ‘15th in 2022’ to ‘14th in 2023’. He also stated that such result reminds AAU’s commitment to render the community with its best services to enhance the quality of education for the development of society.

It is worth mentioning that THE methodology is based on World University Rankings, along with some new metrics which are included to reflect the features and missions of universities in the Middle East and North Africa. Universities are sorted across all their core missions – teaching, research environment, research quality, international outlook, and society to provide the most comprehensive and balanced comparisons.
