A lecture entitled “UAE legislations for consumer protection"

The Deanship of Student Affairs at Al Ain University, in collaboration with the College of Business, organized a lecture entitled: “UAE legislations for consumer protection including the e-commerce transactions”, presented by Mr. Kareem Toumi, International Trade law expert in the Ministry of Economy.

The main objective behind the lecture is to bridge the gap between academia and real-world experience through enhancing social competencies and practical skills to develop their future career. The lecture was linked to the course Business law & ethics, as Mr. Karim explained the Consumer Protection Legislations and how it aims to protect the rights of every natural or corporate person who receives goods or services in the UAE, Also, explained what the consumer rights are and what are the Sellers’ Obligations and all the legislation related to e- commerce transactions.

The lecture was informative to our students and attendees, as it enhanced students’ knowledge about UAE legislations for consumer protection and focused on topics related to legislation of the e-commerce transactions. Also, highlighted how the consumer legislations in UAE have been a significant move forward to protect the consumer rights either on the physical or online transactions.
