Biography

 Dr. Harb joined the Department of Telecommunication Engineering at Yarmouk University in 1995, where he is now holding a Tenure-Track Full Professor. During his career at Yarmouk University he was appointed as the head of Telecommunication Engineering Department at the Hijjawi Faculty of Engineering Technology (1999-2001) and Vice Dean of the college during the periods (2006-2008) and (2012-sep 2015). In 2008-2009 he was granted a sabbatical leave to join the Electrical Engineering Department at Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST). During (2012-2014) he served as interim head of the newly established Industrial Engineering Department. During the academic years (2015-2017), he served as the Dean of the college. As dean, he was the chief academic and administrative officer for the college, which has about 110 Faculty, nearly 4,500 undergraduates and 220 graduate students and about 70 staff. Through his long career ( over twenty years) at Hijjawi college of Engineering with his devotion, experience and creativity, he assisted in the growth of the faculty and students. Currently he is holding the position of Dean of Scientific Research and Graduate Studies at Al Ain University in UAE since Sep 2018. His research interests are signal processing, communication theory and systems, synchronization theory and techniques, chaos based communication systems, chaos in phase locked loops and nonlinear circuits, and chaos synchronization. He is a Senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE), Circuits and Systems Society, Jordan Engineers Association.

  1. Provided leadership and was responsible for all issues ( academic and administrative) of the college such as upgrading academic programs to the highest quality, establishing new programs and hiring staff and managing the budgets.
  2. Establishing links with alumni, government agencies and local industry.
  3. Working closely with faculty and staff to advance the college’s mission and vision and to get ABET accreditation.
  4. Implementing the strategic plan of the college that is in line with the university mission and vision.
  5. Reporting semi-annually to the President all accomplishments achieved by the college of engineering in accordance with the strategic plan of the college and university.
