AAU students -AD Campus- visits the National Archives

The Deanship of Student Affairs at Al Ain University –Abu Dhabi Campus- organized a visit to its students to the National Archive which is under the Ministry of Presidential Affairs.

At the beginning of the visit a delegation from the national archive welcomed the students and took them on a tour around the archive, where they introduced to them the archive's role in keeping the nation memory. Then, Mr. Abdulateef Al Sayadi presented a lecture about the “UAE from the establishment to the global”, he talked about the United Arab Emirates previously, and the sacrifices of H.H Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultam Al Nahyan May God have mercy on him, and his wise leadership to establish the union among the seven emirates. After that, the students went to the Emirates Library to know more information about the library establishment and history till what it has today from a technical evolution. The library paper and electronic Information sources in Arabic and English languages, in addition to some materials in other languages such as; French, German, Dutch, Portuguese. The students also recognized about the written historical documents, historical photographs, old maps, press clippings and some antique collectibles.

At the end of the visit, the AAU students had a tour around the Shaikh Zayed’s Hall, where they saw the hall’s collectibles, the rare photos, and the Interactive screens which it shows the history of the United Arab Emirates great leaders.
